Curry is a popular dish in my neck of the wood and it can be used for different meats. You can pair it with vegetables or any of your favorite staple. For this dish, I used Jamaican Curry and mixed it with some Turmeric. Got some fresh Turkey Wings from ShopRite, chopped it up and seasoned with my homemade Green seasoning.

HOW DO YOU MAKE CURRY TURKEY WINGS

To make this dish, you need:

  • Turkey Wings (seasoned preferably)

  • Oil

  • Garlic

  • Curry Powder

  • Turmeric (optional)

  • Potatoes (optional)

Sauté garlic in oil, add curry powder and turmeric, let cook for about 3 - 4 minutes. It is important that the curry is cooked properly to avoid any raw taste.

I got the idea to use Turmeric from my Mom because she uses it instead of curry powder. However, I love using the curry powder because it is spicy, so I do a mix of both.

Once Curry Power is cooked, add turkey wings, stir to coat then let simmer for about 8-10 minutes, stirring occasionally. This is to ensure the meat is coated with the beautiful golden yellow color.

Once the meat is all coated, I add just enough water to cover it and let cook. You can use chicken stock instead of water but I use water because my meat was seasoned overnight. Another important point to note is to ensure the liquid is added AFTER the meat is coated, if added too early, the meat will not have the color.

I like adding Irish Potatoes to my curry, you can also add carrots. I usually add the potatoes when the meat is almost cooked so it has enough time to be tender.

Once cooked, I enjoy with my favorite sides. I had it with some white rice, broccoli and plantains...…..delicious!!
